A Wall

Brick by brick we built a wall,
It’s a wall that cannot fall.

If it crumbles to the sea,
It lives on in you and me.

And we’d place another brick,
To our manner we would stick.

And another and some more,
Better than we’d done before.

It’s an idea in the mind.
Some bricks are what it came to find.

Who creates this lovely wall,
Devised so it cannot fall?

If we crumble to the sea,
New builders would come to be.

Wills to place another brick,
That’s the manner that seems to stick.

And another and some more,
Same as many did before.

The wills of what or who or why,
These details that pass us by.
